How the Benefits Summary Works
1. Initial Estimate from Your PAQ
- As you complete your PAQ (Personal Assessment Questionnaire), we use the responses to estimate what your potential rating could be
- At this stage, the estimate is not fully accurate, as it is based solely on your self-reported information
2. Doctor Review & DBQs Improve Accuracy
- Once a medical provider has reviewed your information and filled out the DBQ (Disability Benefits Questionnaire), the accuracy of the estimate increases.
- DBQs are official VA documents designed to be completed by medical professionals, making them a more reliable source for estimating benefits
3. Refinement Through Multiple Appointments
- As you go through additional medical assessments, your DBQs are fine-tuned and updated
- This continuous refinement helps produce a more precise estimate of your potential benefits.
